To be honest, he looks happier than he's looked for a long while now.

He's always chirpy in the interviews with Lovett and has a laugh with him so i'm not reading too much into that but hopefully he is happy and fired up for this season. We need him to have a big year and he needs to for himself more then anything to secure a decent deal either at Wigan or somewhere else.

Is it just me that thinks his face looks very thin in that interview? I'd like to hope he'd put on abit of weight but just going off that clip i'd say he looks to have even lost abit. I look forward to seeing all the player Sunday and look were they're upto fitness wise.

I think those who mentioned that Stu would have a new lease under a new coach may well be right. He looks re-invigorated and like all the players, is looking forward to playing a game...

Surely you want him putting on muscle mass and not just 'weight' as most people know it? Gaining in muscle mass wouldn't show in your face, whilst training as hard as they've been saying and getting fitter would indeed make you leaner and make your face look thinner.

Fingers crossed he's gained a stone in muscle but has been training as hard as we've been hearing and is that much fitter for it. Not that he was unfit in the first place!

I just hope he starts winning the collision and knocking some defenders over, he's been going down easier than Jordan in the last few years.

Yeah suppose so mate and thats why i said i'm looking forward to Sunday so much. It's all well and good hearing stories about how well trainings been going and how certain players are miles fitter but theres nothing like judging for yourself.

I like how he says this is the toughest pre-season he has ever experienced. For a player with over 300 Super League games, 11 years of Super League experience as well as many trips to Australia with GB and series in this country - makes that a big compliment to our backroom team and an indication of how tough pre-season has been for the lads.
